Rightfax Electronic Fax Document Software
RightFAX - Small Business Server ™
The complete standalone electronic fax document software for delivering and receiving faxes 'desk to desk' for companies of all sizes.
an overview
Designed to work independently, the RightFAX Small Business Server 7.0 is a full-featured, e-document delivery system ideal for the small company, department, or workgroup of 50 users or less. With the RightFAX Small Business Server, organisations can take advantage of a wide range of network faxing options. This includes creating, sending, and receiving documents directly from desktop applications using the FaxUtil ™ client interface, or from Lotus cc:Mail ®, Microsoft ® Mail, Novell ® GroupWise ®, and popular SMTP-compliant email packages. Also, the RightFAX Small Business Server can be purchased as a bundle with either the RightFAX Gateway for Microsoft Exchange or the RightFAX Gateway for Lotus Notes ®.
The RightFAX Small Business Server is a multithreaded client-server application written specifically for Windows NT. With a comprehensive set of administrative tools, the RightFAX Small Business Server is easy to install, configure, and manage - giving administrators complete control of their system.
how it works
When the server receives a document to fax, it calls one of four separate rendering engines: a PCL engine for jobs sent directly to the print queue using a standard PCL print driver; the optional Pscript engine for PostScript or PDF files; the INSO engine for documents received in their native application format (such as Word or Excel files); or the server-side application (SSA) conversion engine which uses locally installed applications to render files created in those applications. The server decides automatically which conversion engine to use based on the format of the submitted document and the installed conversion capabilities.
After conversion to fax format, the server examines the destination fax number and compares it to a list of customisable dialling rules. Depending on the dialling rule matched, the fax is then either transmitted via the local phone lines or may be forwarded to RightFAX's IP Plus fax network for transmission.
A comprehensive suite of optional add-on modules lets you customise each RightFAX Small Business Server for the exact needs of the fax users attached to that server, whether supporting specialised fax client applications, integrating with email and other third-party applications, or incorporating powerful administrative utilities.
